OlliOlli, Rollerdrome Studio Roll7 is Reportedly Being Shuttered

In a recent development reported by Bloomberg, Roll7, a studio owned by Private Division, is set to close soon. Roll7, recognized for creating the OlliOlli series and Rollerdrome, became part of Private Division after its acquisition in 2021. The closure is part of a broader cost-reduction strategy by Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Private Division, which involves laying off approximately 5 percent of its workforce—around 600 employees.

The layoffs at Take-Two Interactive are not only affecting Roll7. Intercept Games, the developer behind Kerbal Space Program 2 and another subsidiary of Private Division, has also been confirmed to be closing. These layoffs extend to the Private Division itself, with numerous employees being dismissed.

This month, Take-Two Interactive disclosed that it anticipates a financial downturn of about $200 million linked to these cutbacks. This amount includes approximately $140 million attributable to the discontinuation of various projects.
