Microsoft Enhances Skype Experience with Ad-Free Interface and AI Tools in Latest Update

Microsoft has introduced a significant update for Skype, its video conferencing and VoIP-based calling platform, that enhances the platform's overall usability. With this latest release, the company aims to provide a more streamlined and user-friendly experience.

The new Skype update brings a major change that has been long-awaited by its users: the removal of ads across all platforms. This update, introduced in version 8.125.76.201, ensures a decluttered interface that allows users to focus on their conversations without any interruptions. Alongside this ad-free experience, the update also comes with new features and improvements, as Microsoft outlined in a blog post released on Monday.

One of the noteworthy features of this update is the enhanced AI image creation tool. Users can now generate AI images directly from the chat window or from the top navigation bar. Additionally, this functionality is accessible next to the forward option in the message context menu. The latest update broadens the perspective on AI-generated visuals, simplifying the process for users to assess their artwork before distributing it.

Microsoft has also streamlined the login process for Skype on iOS devices through OneAuth integration. This new system allows users to sign in automatically without needing a password, provided they are already logged in on other Microsoft platforms like Teams. It's important to note that this password-free authentication method was previously available on Skype for Android.

Besides these new features, the Skype update addresses several bugs. Specifically, it fixes an issue that prevents users from sending media when connected to a 5G network. Additionally, the update resolves a problem that affected several iOS users who could hear the ringtone but were unable to answer incoming calls.

This update is being rolled out gradually and will become available to users over the coming days, according to Microsoft.
