First Patch Rollout for Payday 3 includes Bug Correction and Balance Adjustments

As Payday 3 gamers grapple with initial matchmaking difficulties, server disconnections, and other technical glitches, they can now look forward to some relief. The first corrective update that the game desperately needed has finally been rolled out.

Starbreeze, the developer of the game, had originally planned to introduce patch 1.0.1 on October 5th. However, it had to postpone the rollout till mid-October in order to address certain issues that were identified during testing. The rectification process faced further delays due to issues related to the patching procedure and player progression. At long last, the patch has been released, introducing fixes for several bugs along with quality-of-life enhancements identified in the first month of gameplay.

A few highlights from the update, as detailed by Starbreeze, include the addition of pre-order and edition-specific items for PlayStation 5 users and improved aim assist functionality for the same platform. Bug fixes featured in the patch include a solution for an issue where players were getting stuck in a crouching position when playing with high ping and another where the player could get stuck and was unable to proceed to menus after failing a heist.

Payday 3 has also undergone some balance tweaks in this latest update. As accepted by Starbreeze, the game's 'Last Man Standing' and 'Armor Up' were performing a bit too well. The developers are planning to introduce certain modifications to keep these benefits effective while ensuring that it will require more setup compared to the advantages they provide. This will be incorporated in the next big patch. Meanwhile, the developers are also keen on adding more ways for players to restore armor in the game while also gradually addressing the currently underperforming health aspect.

The patch has brought about changes to weapons. Knives can now be thrown through broken shield visors, and an issue with weapon recoil in lower frames per second (FPS) has been fixed. For instance, the enemy AI has also been improved, with Dozers inching closer before attacking heisters with their shotgun.

Other improvements include adding the sound for dropping bodies and improving the sound effect for opening crates. Technical fixes, UI enhancements, adjustments of enemy behavior, skills, and weapon recoil have also been rolled out. Heist modifications and corrections of visual issues are part of the refurbishment as well.

However, users might still encounter issues such as challenges getting stuck. Plus, the weapon charms and a reward from the PAYDAY 2 to PAYDAY 3 cross-promotion campaign might not be allocated correctly. Developers have said these issues should be fixed by the next patch rollout.
