Nov-20-2024
Anticipation has been building as Tom Hardy's much-anticipated action thriller for Netflix finally unveils its first glimpse and scheduled release date after four years of wait.
Netflix has introduced a sneak peek at Havoc, the action-thriller featuring Tom Hardy. This project was initially revealed back in 2021, with Gareth Evans, recognized for his contributions to The Raid and its sequel, at the helm both directing and writing the script, while Hardy takes on the main character and functions as an executive producer. The impressive cast brings together talents such as Xelia Mendes-Jones, Forest Whitaker, Timothy Olyphant, Justin Cornwell, Jessie Mei Li, and Yeo Yann Yann, Luis Guzman, and Michelle Waterson.
According to Netflix, the official synopsis highlights a gripping storyline: following a botched drug deal, a detective navigates a treacherous criminal landscape to save a politician's son, unveiling a complex network of corruption and conspiracy that encompasses his entire city. A visual preview is also available below.
Filming concluded in October 2021, and in 2022, Evans expressed optimism regarding a 2023 release for the film. However, subsequent reshoots were announced in 2023, resulting in a shift to a 2024 release, accompanied by several first-look images shared by Netflix.
More reshoots reportedly occurred earlier this year, leading to a confirmed release window of 2025 from Netflix. Today, Evans shared previously released stills on his Instagram account, teasing the audience with the caption about its impending arrival.
In July of this year, Evans also updated followers on Instagram, stating that additional photography commenced that month, attributing the film's delays to various factors including scheduling conflicts and industry strikes.
Havoc is anticipated to debut on Netflix sometime in 2025. For further insights, don’t miss our compilation of the most thrilling upcoming films in 2024.
