Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’s Launch Revenue is Reportedly 67 Percent Down from Call of Duty Mobile

Since its introduction in 2019, Call of Duty Mobile has become a lucrative venture for Activision, now part of Microsoft's portfolio. This success has spurred efforts to further extend the popular shooter franchise within the mobile gaming sector. The latest endeavor, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, made its worldwide debut recently. However, this new free-to-play battle royale game didn't experience the same remarkable start as the franchise's first foray into mobile gaming.
According to a report from PocketGamer.biz, in the initial four days following its global launch on March 21, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile accrued $1.4 million in revenue. This figure rises slightly to $1.6 million when including earnings from March 20, when the game was prematurely released in certain areas. These numbers pale in comparison to the $4.2 million earned by Call of Duty Mobile in the same timeframe after its 2019 launch.
Despite receiving a soft launch in December 2022 and being available in selected regions since then, Warzone Mobile has amassed a total of $2.2 million in revenue up to now. The United States accounts for 47 percent of this revenue, contributing $1.1 million.
While it's still the beginning stages for Warzone Mobile, the strategic importance of the mobile gaming sector to Activision and Microsoft suggests that both companies will likely invest more effort and resources into promoting the game. Despite its current figures not reaching the heights of its mobile predecessor at launch, there remains optimism for Warzone Mobile's potential to grow in popularity and revenue.
